When 5-Star Students is used to send emails to users (i.e. staff members) or students, your school or district email server may block emails that are sent based on specific delivery policies. For example, if sending emails to students via our system, the receiving email server may prohibit the email because it's coming from an outside source.
To prevent your email server from blocking delivery, you may need your IT team to whitelist the 5-Star Students domain and/or sending IP address and potentially allow links from our custom link tracking domain.
We use a third-party communications provider, Twilio SendGrid, to assist us with email delivery and open/link tracking.
Whitelist 5-Star Student's domain
All email messages come from our domain 5starstudents.com. The specific "From" email address for sending is messages@5starstudents.com. Many email server policies use domain or email address "whitelisting" to allow mail from specific senders.
Whitelist 5-Star Student's sending IP Address
To provide consistency for our clients and increase deliverability, we also have a dedicated sending IP address that can be whitelisted in your email server's firewall settings. The following IP address should be added to your trusted or "whitelisted" IP ranges:
Sending IP Address (Static) | 149.72.136.131 |
Whitelist 5-Star Student's link tracking domain
To provide statistics on link clicks from email recipients, we use a link forwarding service through our service partner. The following is the default link shortening and tracking domain that can be whitelisted in your email server settings:
Link tracking domain | link.5starstudents.com |
